This harness is made very well and it is extremely easy to put on my dog, even though she rolls and squirms the entire time. I have not had her in the car yet, as I am considering exchanging it for the larger harness still. It does seem to be constructed well enough to restrain her while in the car and have enough mobility to sit or lay.
The harness does say that it is for up to 55 lb. dogs, and mine is only 40lbs, but it barely fits her chest. I have it expanded all the way at the bottom of her chest. She is an English Pointer, but very petite for her breed so I thought I would order the medium since she is within weight recommendations. She is 22 inches tall and her chest is about 8 inches shoulder to shoulder. I measured her ribs 24 inches around at the largest part. She is also 22 inches chest to back leg. When ordering this for larger “medium size” dogs, you should consider your dogs chest size as well as weight.

Ordered this for our new dog who loves to move all over the vehicle while I’m driving. With this safety harness our dog still has some range of motion in which to shift positions in the seat, but not enough to climb over the seat to try and sit in my lap. It goes on the dog fairly easily…once you figure out what you are doing…the clip attaches to the seat belt and the harness attaches to the clip. Easy to use, feels secure, and makes driving with our dog safer for us and her. I would definitely recommend this to all dog owners. (with appropriate sizing of course) Rating: 5 / 5
Fleece interior of harness looks comfortable and my bulldog likes wearing it. The harness is sturdy and strong. Overall a great product for a good price. I’m very happy. My only complaint is the ends of the straps where is plastic clips are, don’t have any fold or stopper on their ends. My fat bulldog needs the straps around his belly all the way loose, and the straps easily pull out of the clips. This was easily fixed by just sewing the strap together around the clip and works great, but now the stomach straps are not adjustable. I just hope he doesn’t get any fatter. Otherwise the medium is the perfect size, the large would be too big.
Also as other have said, it only comes with one seat-belt clip, making it difficult to use in multiple cars. Rating: 4 / 5
I bought this item b/c a previous safety belt was too confining for our dog and we wanted him to be able to move around, a little. The belt attaches to the car seat belt and our dog can still, with the seat belt on, climb to the front seat of the car, which kinda defeats the purpose of it in the first place. I’ve buckled it to the far seat belt fasten and still he can pull it to the front seat of the car and to sit on my lap. Could be an issue with my car seat belt just allowing too much freedom. Harness fit my beagle/bulldog who’s about 35 pounds. Good idea but doesn’t really work that well in my civic. Rating: 3 / 5
It fits my 50 lb. dog a little snug, but that is a good thing. My dog is so hyper in the car, she tries to sit in my lap while I am driving. This solved that problem, but she managed to get a little tangled up somehow. As long as it keeps her off my lap, it is great. The poor dog, though cries all the way through the trip. Maybe she knows we’re going to the vet, which is a short drive. But when I need to drive a long distance, it will keep her in the back. I am glad I bought this item to keep us all safe in the car.
